Mark’s interest for photography started at very young age. He bought his first camera at the age of 12 and created scenic landscape photographs. During high school, his interested shifted to portrait photography and hand processed black and white film and paper. During his senior year, he became the lead photographer for the yearbook.
He attended College at Washington State University and completed his Master's Degree at Western Washington University. After college he moved to the Skagit Valley area where he started his teaching career and opened his portrait photography business. Throughout the mid nineties his photography business grew into a stable viable business. In 2005 he took some time off from teaching and operated his portrait photography business full time. Mark photographed weddings, senior and family portraits. In 2013 he returned to education and starting teaching Photography and Graphic Design at Ridgefield High School.
Mark is extremely passionate about photography and puts his heart and soul into every image he creates. He loves the texture, tones and the purity of black and white photography. He now enjoys sharing his skills and sharing his knowledge with his photography and graphic design students.
